'International Childcare Trust works in the UK
and in developing countries, in direct partnership with local groups,
to implement innovative and cost-effective development and relief initiatives,
for the poorest members of the community'.
ICT currently works in Cambodia, Kenya, Tanzania, Sri Lanka and India with key Southern partner
NGOs. ICT UK enhances the capacity of our partner organisations through
information sharing and training opportunities and helps promote our partners'
projects through raising their international profile, offering expert
advice and helping to raise much needed funds.
ICT exists for the purpose of relieving poverty, relieving sickness and
advancing the education of children and young persons anywhere in the
world who are in a condition of need, hardship or distress.
ICT achieves these objectives by designing, implementing and managing
projects in conjunction with local people according to their needs and
within the culture of the country of operation. Projects are managed and
staffed by local people.
We provide practical help and aid to children in developing countries
either through direct action with the child or through projects that assist
the families of children.
Our projects cover primary health care, income generation schemes, rehabilitation
centres for displaced children and many other aspects of support.
Most of our activities are funded by grants from government organisations,
UK and European trusts and donations from businesses and individuals.
OUR WORK DEPENDS UPON THE FUNDS THAT WE
RAISE!
